Branson is the undisputed “live music show capital of the world,” with over 100 live shows performing daily! Branson is host to three beautiful lakes, 12 championship golf courses, an international award-winning theme park, dozens of museums and attractions and a historical downtown district. Our focus for this tour to Branson will be the beautiful and entertaining Christmas music shows. During this wonderful time of the year, the hotels, theaters and townspeople all come together to produce the Branson Area Festival of Lights and Christmas Celebration.
Prior to our arrival in Branson, we will enjoy a relaxing evening at the Drury Inn in Collinsville, IL where we can enjoy their famous “Kick Back” reception with a light supper. The evening will be on our own so we can enjoy the many amenities including the pool and exercise room.
An attraction all in itself and a great place for lunch is at Lambert’s Café in Springfield. Lambert’s is known as the “Home of the Throwed Rolls”, famous for its homestyle cooking, “pass arounds,” and “throwed” dinner rolls. They really do throw the dinner rolls!
The shows we will see in Branson are a mix of traditional country music, and down-home entertainment with new and dynamic musical numbers and unforgettable dance.
Dixie Stampede Christmas Dinner Show is a unique dinner experience. Celebrate a Christmas tradition as Dixie transforms into a holiday celebration including a live Nativity, with three kings atop camels, holiday music, a visit from Santa and a four-course yuletide feast. Presenting the bright musical fantasy, The Magic of Toys, this performance is highlighted by a stunning aerial display and set to the unforgettable music of the Nutcracker.
Clay Cooper celebrates his 34th season performing in Branson. Along with his Live Band, 10 Dancers, new Male Trio of Singers, and Comedian Matt Gumm, along with outstanding young entertainers, his sons, Colton & Caden Cooper, Clay puts on an amazing show! This high energy show is filled with singing, dancing and comedy with 24 entertainers on stage, great visual effects, and a variety of music. Clay’s show will feature old and new country, rock, gospel, and patriotic!
The Haygoods bring the house down night after night with incredibly tight harmonies, innovative, energetic choreography, incredible special effects and amazing performances on over 20 different instruments! With 6 melodic sibling voices and effervescent energy all combined with a passion for putting on a top-notch show. Their Christmas show is beautiful!
The Dutton Family Christmas Show will transport us to a Christmas wonderland filled with the season’s best vocal harmonies, exciting dances, and inspiring instrumentals. The Dutton’s are international touring and recording artists who perform bluegrass to classical music and everything in between. With thirty-one years of experience, and just about as many kids between them, they will rock the stage with a variety of genres.
Noah is the touching story being told at the wonderful Sight and Sound Theater. This is a story with a catastrophic storm on its way, one man is given a monumental task: build a boat big enough to save his family from a flood that will cover the entire earth. But they will not be alone. This landmark production takes us on board one of the world’s best known voyages, as live animals fill the stage and the aisles. We’ll set sail inside the enormous ark as this extraordinary Bible story comes to life all around us!
We will take a self- guided tour through the Titanic Museum. Open the door to the past in this one-of-a-kind attraction. We will experience what it was like to walk the hallways, parlors, cabins and Grand Staircase of the Titanic while surrounded by 400 artifacts directly from the ship and its passengers. Other experiences to be had are touching a real iceberg, placing our hands into 28-degree water (the temperature of the water in the Atlantic Ocean), and trying to stand on the sloping decks as the Titanic was sinking. We are given a passenger or crew member’s name upon arrival. We can discover our passenger or crew’s fate in the Titanic Memorial Room where 2,208 names line this historical wall.
There will be time for a little shopping as we visit the Branson Landing for an afternoon. Branson Landing features a scenic boardwalk along the 1.5-mile Taneycomo Lakefront. Meeting up for our dinner this evening at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen. Good food is nothing without good people. The core of everything done at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen begins with the staff that embodies Southern hospitality through and through. We’ll be greeted with a hearty “Hey Y’all” and leave feeling as though we’ve just been sitting around our grandma’s dinner table.
Our last night away from home will be at the Lakeside Hotel and Casino in Osceola, Iowa. There will be a delicious buffet dinner included this evening. If the slots or table games are not of interest, the indoor pool and hot tub are always inviting.
Christmas has a very special meaning for all of us. It is a holiday built around the concept of family. What began with Mary and Joseph and the infant Jesus in the manger – the sentiments of togetherness and love – has spread over the centuries to millions of homes. The families in Branson certainly convey that concept of family togetherness and love.
