HELLO WISCONSIN – This will be our first area tour in a series of four tours throughout Wisconsin. On this tour we will travel east toward the Green Bay area. Come with us and enjoy some exciting attractions in beautiful Wisconsin!!!!!! Our first stop will be at Schroeder Brothers Family Farm in Antigo. We will be given a guided tour of this award-winning potato farm by Eric Schroeder, a fifth- generation member of this farming operation. He is the perfect representation of what these ‘next generation’ farmers represent. In the early 1960s Schroeder Brothers Farms concentrated on seed potato production and farmed 350 acres. Currently, the farm grows potatoes on over 2200 acres. The family farm is a three-time winner of Frito-Lay’s seed grower of the year award, 2004, 2009 and 2010 and is the largest Frito-Lay seed producer in the United States. After a devastating fire in 2007, the family rebuilt and created a state-of-the-art operation. The Schroeder’s are recognized within the potato industry for their progressive ideas and willingness to find new and better methods of farming.

Our lunch will be in Green Bay at the Golden Corral buffet before our beautiful Fox River Tour. The “Love Your River Tour” is a laid-back tour which includes some of the prettiest sections of the Lower Fox River with views of wooded sections and beautiful homes. The narration during the tour will focus on the history, environment, and area geology.

Our final stop will be the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay where we will be given a guided tour including a train ride along with a 25-minute theater presentation. During the ride the conductor describes various rolling stock, points out highlights of the museum, talks about railroad safety, and discusses hobo culture. The train ride is pulled by a diesel locomotive. Our guide will discuss the highlights of the collection including: The General Motors Aerotrain, General Eisenhower’s WWII command train, the Union Pacific Big Boy, the Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 electric locomotive, the Pullman porters, and the Wisconsin 40&8 boxcar.

This is number one in our series of four and we want you to enjoy each and every one of them. Join us on all four of our Hello Wisconsin tours and receive a special gift after the August 7th tour.
