Experience the Bluegrass State like never before. The nickname for Kentucky is based on the fact that bluegrass is found in many of the lawns and pastures throughout the state, particularly in the northern part of Kentucky. We’ll see plenty of bluegrass as we soak up the history in Louisville.

Our first evening will be spent in Clarksville, Indiana at the Radisson Louisville North. We will stroll across the parking lot to the Derby Dinner Playhouse where we will enjoy a delicious and unlimited dinner buffet followed by a terrific show, which has not been publicly announced yet.

Heading into Louisville on Wednesday, we will tour Churchill Downs Racetrack and the Kentucky Derby Museum. We will immerse ourselves in the excitement of the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” at the Kentucky Derby Museum! Enjoy interactive exhibits, a 360 degree hidefinition film and an Historic Walking Tour of Churchill Downs. Then, we get to sit on Millionaires Row and enjoy the thrill of live racing with full access to the Chef’s Table Buffet. Our step-on guide will be a wealth of information not only about Churchill Downs but the Louisville area.

Thursday will find us on our way to The Ark Encounter where we will experience Bible History at the life-size Noah’s Ark! God said to Noah, “I am going to destroy all flesh because the world is full of violence. Build an Ark of gopher wood, with rooms inside, three decks, and a door. Cover it inside and out with pitch.” And Noah did exactly as God commanded him (Genesis 6: 13-22).

Ken Ham didn’t get a command from God but he has always been fascinated with Noah’s Ark and the Genesis Flood. A very talented team of individuals was assembled to begin the work of creating an ark. “Just as God brought the land animals to Noah for the Ark, so God brought these people to us.” Ken Ham says as they began the project. The Ark Encounter is an exhibit, within an exhibit, within an exhibit. The Ark itself is immense and will be a jaw-dropping experience for us. Within the great ship, the exhibits go into detail about such things as: what Noah’s family might have experienced on the Ark; answer questions about how Noah could fit the animals on board and then feed and look after them; offer teaching exhibits about trusting God’s Word; present the gospel in our secularized age; display various cages, artifacts, lifesize figures, and unique sculpted animals; show the sensational artwork; present teaching exhibits about the Flood and Ark; and the list goes on.

It’s time to relax after a full day of walking and learning. Our evening will be spent cruising on the Belle of Cincinnati where we can take in the skyline of Cincinnati, watch the river go by and enjoy a fantastic meal aboard with the Captain’s Dinner Cruise.

The following day we will continue our Biblical adventure at the Creation Museum. The history of the Bible vividly comes to life at the world-class Creation Museum. As we enter the Time Tunnel, we’ll be transported back 6,000 years to the dawn of time as we begin our walk through biblical history. We’ll encounter a realistic Garden of Eden, animatronic Noah, Flood dioramas, and stunning video displays throughout the journey. Other exhibits include a fascinating insectarium, sculpted dinosaurs of all kinds in the Dino Den, a full-size Allosaurus skeleton, and much more. The history of the Bible is an exhibit at the Creation Museum that will show us how forty authors, writing over 2,000 years, spoke the same message. Scrolls discovered in the last century confirm that the original words have been preserved. Archaeology has repeatedly confirmed that the Bible’s historical details are accurate. Above all, the God of truth, the Creator of heaven and earth, inspired the men who penned the words for us to learn of Him. God’s Word offers hope. This is another experience that will leave you without words to describe it.

Our last evening will be spent at the Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre in Indianapolis where we will enjoy The Sound of Music, The Musical. A delicious buffet dinner will be provided before this must see musical.

On our way home we will stop at Starved Rock Lodge, for lunch served in their Main Dining Room in the majestic Lodge situated on a wooded bluff overlooking the Illinois River, and their Historic Trolley Tour of the park. A short tour packed with so many wonderful sights, sounds and amazing history.
